Wedding Wednesday: Jessika & Gregory

11/22/2015  |  Star of India - Maritime Museum of San Diego

Jessica and Gregory had a nautical themed wedding on the oldest operational tall ship in the world. They are both native San Diegans therefore they wanted to get married on the Star of India which is a well known San Diego icon. Gregory is also a Chef, so they knew their wedding would revolve around food and wine. Their wedding had a very casual nautical theme and they played a selection of their favorite music versus traditional wedding ceremony ballads. The couple wrote their own vows and let the officiate select a few readings about love and marriage. Directly following the ceremony they had a champagne hour on the boat for the guests while the newly married couple took photos and mingled with friends and family.
The reception was held at The Wine Vault & Bistro that is focused on food and wine pairings. They had a second cocktail hour with tray passed appetizers and then moved on to a five-course menu that was paired with wine and spirits. The ambiance was very simple yet romantic with an all white theme. Corks, wine boxes, wine bottles and white hydrangeas were used to decorate the restaurant. Jessica and Gregory did not have the traditional first dance, cake cutting or garter toss...instead they dined all night with their family and close friends and had a time for speeches right before dessert. To ad to the mood of the evening they had two acoustic guitarists playing English and Spanish cover songs throughout the night.
