Raylyn and David's wedding was unique and quirky, just like the couple. David is in the military and most of his friendships come from his service, so they decided to honor that. Raylyn's brothers and sisters-in-law walked down the aisle and they even opted to have her grandmother as our flower girl. She LOVED that. Instead of walking down the aisle after the ceremony, they danced to Huey Lewis' "Power of Love." The couple's first dance for the reception was the Beach Boys' "God Only Knows." They just wanted to have fun and show their friends and family who they are as a couple: best friends who can be goofy with each other. Family and friends mean so much to them that they wanted to incorporate them. They had a friend (who is a minister through Sandals Church in Riverside) do the ceremony and another friend do the bouquets. Raylyn wore her great grandmother's ring, used her grandmother's Bible for communion, and a part of her mom's wedding dress was used for her bag for the honeymoon dance. It was so special to have 4 generations of women represented in little ways. Raylyn is obsessed with fall so the couple wanted our ceremony to have lots of fall colors. They had hay, lanterns, leaves, and s'mores! The bride is gluten free, so cake has never been her favorite part of weddings. When she asked the venue about the possibility of s'mores, they hooked it up with gluten free crackers and everything! Sharing their first s'more was one of the most special parts of the wedding and it was a communal way for guests to mingle! According to the couple, the best part of their wedding was that they got so much weather! It was sunny for a bit, then cloudy, and they even got rain right after the outdoor ceremony! Raylyn loves rainy weddings, so it was super romantic. They had an outdoor ceremony that almost went indoors, but the bride's brother and sister-in-law brought them a big, polka dot umbrella just in case. The happy couple ended up getting their wish for an outdoor ceremony and rain! It was a perfect day from start to finish.
