This cake from Laura Marie's Cakes has just the right amount of everything! The cream, black and gold color combination makes for a formal affair. The buttercream ruffles and gold leaves add a sweet touch while the black layers add a touch of edge. This cake is just perfect for a formal wedding.

Inspiration Thursday: Beauty and the Beast
A tale as old as time, so the song says…Apparently clients are asking
and asking for Beauty and the Beast inspired weddings! Being big Disney
fans themselves, Raelyn Elizabeth Photography decided to come up with a
styled shoot of inspiration for their brides, and SDSW readers. They
updated their Belle's look by dip dying a dress in golden yellow and
orange dye for a super current ombre look. Their beast (aka Prince Adam)
did not wear a tie, just as the Prince did not wear one once he wasn't a
beast anymore. They included all kinds of brass and antique looking
details such as the couch and clock like you may find in an old castle.
Easter eggs like the dresser, chip, candle stick holders, book seating
chart, and red florals can also be seen in the design. The team also
included current details like the slider charm jewelry, sparkly shoes,
blue florals, star/led lights, chair, and painted wooden signs. They had
so much fun creating this styled shoot, and they know SDSW readers will
love it too!

The morning leading up to our wedding was a roller coaster of emotions, as we refreshed the apple weather app and watched as the rain fell off and on. Maybe it was the betting stalls calling in the bridal suite or just that I was so in love with our outdoor ceremony location, but I took a gamble and decided to keep to our original plan. As guests arrived, I looked on from the bridal suite overlooking the courtyard to see open umbrellas and not a glimpse of sunshine. Between walking downstairs, praying with my bridesmaids, and walking down the aisle with my dad (getting lost in the special moments of our ceremony) the rain stopped and the sky cleared for the duration of our ceremony and cocktail hour. Rain began to fall as soon as the reception was to begin, and it was time to warm up the dance floor with our Arthur Murray dancing skills. The rest is both a blur and also etched into my memory forever, the best day of my life.
