Fashion Friday: Flower Girl Fashion

She may be small, but she's the star of the aisle.  It's your flower girl!  There are a lot of things to consider when choosing a dress for your flower girl and you, of course, want something that will make both of you happy.  Here are a few tips from SDSW when choosing your flower girls dress:

1. Make sure it's age appropriate. You can get away with putting a "6 and under" in an adorable little cotton ball skirt and matching socks, but once you reach 7, these young ladies would probably look better in a tea length dress with less frills.  A good idea would be to make it a mini version of your own gown.

2. Try and incorporate your color palette.  Your flower girl is the first person your guests will see come down the aisle and her dress should compliment the color theme and flower arrangements that will surround the ceremony space.  Start with the type of petals she will be throwing and go from there.

3. Comfortability.  It's harder for youngsters to stay in formal attire for long periods of time.  Look for a relaxed fit that won't irritate them and leaves plenty of room to run around and be a kid.

4. Include the flower girl! Letting the flower girl "assist" in picking the dress can be a fun experience for her and make her feel special.
