When agreeing to be in a bridal party, you are agreeing to the financial responsibility that comes with the fun. Bachelorette parties are a fun time to let a little loose and celebrate the bride! Traditionally, the bridal party covers the expenses for the bride at the bachelorette party (hotel, meals, drinks, etc).
If you want to take a gift to the bachelorette party, then go for it but know that it's not required. The bachelorette is a good time to give gag gifts. You can also go in with another bridesmaid for a nicer set of lingerie since moms and grandmothers normally don't participate in the bachelorette. If you're still questioning it, you can always ask the Maid of Honor what the bride wants and let her take it from there!
