4/2/2016 | The Slate Barn & Gardens
Rebecca and John went into the planning process with a very low budget initially, since it was just Rebecca, her mom, and John paying for the wedding. They saved for months with hopes to produce a beautiful, one of a kind DIY colorful wedding -- and they totally made it happen!! Their colors were burnt orange, fuchsia, light pink, and mustard yellow. Coming from a design background, Rebecca knew she wanted to hand make a lot of their wedding elements. So she DIY'd all of the decor, favors, programs, bar menu, etc. The couple had our wedding party pick out their own colorfully mismatched bow ties and dresses, which reflected the atmosphere of a laid back spring garden party that they were going for. Rebecca designed the two wedding cakes and dessert table herself, and recruited the help from crafty friends to make a lot of the desserts that they had. Their wedding did not have alcohol due to the costs, so they opted for fun mocktails that the bride thought of herself using sparkling sodas!
