One of the coolest trends right now is Geode cakes! These cakes are an optical illusion where it looks like part of your cake is a geode but really, it's just the magic that cakeries can perform like this gem from Sweet Cheeks Baking Company! Because geodes come in many colors, you can even blend in your wedding colors too!

Inspiration Thursday: Sunset Serendipity
One of the most amazing feelings the beach brings is the calm and freedom you feel when listening to the waves. This beautiful stylized session at Sunset Cliffs in San Diego brings colors that are inspired by the beach, rocks and a masculine touch of grey.

Wedding Wednesday: Rachel & Chris
5/28/2015 | US Grant Hotel
Chris and Rachel were set up through friends about 2 and a 1/2 years ago. From their first date in Little Italy to their engagement in March of 2014, they have shared so many happy memories! They love sports, traveling, and their families and friends! They consider themselves blessed to have found one another. They are each other's partner in crime, and they have fun, no matter what they are doing! They are looking forward to traveling Europe next summer and to starting a family soon! The couple can, truly, say that their wedding day was the happiest, most fun day of their lives! Actually, everything leading up to the "big day" was so fun! The planning, the showers, the bridal luncheon, and even just getting ready…They would happily do it all again! Having an amazing set of vendors was key in the day being low stress, happy, and fun! The wedding planner, Trena Lozano [and her team] were instrumental in making Rachel’s dream of a vintage fairy tale wedding come true! The florist, Annette Gomez, was also a key part of bringing that vision to life! The U.S. Grant is incredibly beautiful on its own. Truly, that pre-existing decor was the inspiration for their wedding. Every vendor understood their vision and helped make the day flawless for the couple. From the vintage twist on the candy bar, to the chalkboard photo booth, they had the wedding of their dreams- truly, a vintage fairytale! Along with the beauty of the venue, tables, decor, etc., the couple thinks everyone had a great time, which was VERY important to them! They served champagne at the ceremony, had the U.S. Grant's special Centennial Manhattans at the cocktail hour, and they had the most amazing band! They had incredible energy and were such a talented, fun set of performers. Honestly, the two couldn't stop smiling, and now, when they look back at the day, tehy can't stop smiling either! Truly, it was the best day ever!

Wedding Wednesday: Susana & Jeff
4/22/2017 | First United Methodist Church of San Diego

Makeup: Aura Aveda Studio
Jewelry: David and Sons Jewelry
Menswear: Friar Tux Shop
Susana and Jeff met 5 years ago at work and started their beautiful relationship. When planning their wedding they had one very important thing in mind - their family and traditions. Susana & Jeff tied the knot with an intimate ceremony at the First United Methodist Church of San Diego with just a few of their family and friends. The Maid of Honor was Susana's daughter and Best Man was Jeff's son. Susana lost both of her parents fairly recently so she was honored that her brother, Francisco, was able to walk her down the aisle. Although her parents passed, Susana kept them very close on a charm she had sewn into her silk bouquet. Her dress was also custom designed and hand made by her family's business in Mexico. After the ceremony, family and friends joined the happy couple for a reception dinner in Old Town Historic Park where we finished the rest of the couples photos with a traditional Spanish rustic vibe.
