Thursday Inspiration: Mad Hatter Bridal Tea Party

If the Mad Hatter hosted a bridal shower, it would look like this.  Imagine tasty cupcakes in spinning teacups  and a giant, yellow manzanita tree with cascading florals of hydrangea, Colombian roses, tulips, craspedia, spray roses, cymbidium orchids and Variegated Aspidistra complimented by hydrangea, miniature roses and button mums delicately arranged in petite hanging teacups. Clear chairs give the theme a lighter-than-air, dreamy quality and bright polka dot linens, tea bag favors and custom teapot place card holders finish the off-beat theme.  You can almost see the Cheshire Cat sleeping up in that manzanita tree.

Wedding Wednesday: Kimmie & Jon

5/23/2014  | Stone Garden Events

It started off with the groom, groomsmen and future father-in-law palsying a round of golf at Temecula Creek while Kimmie, her maid of honor and her mom got pampered for the big day. She felt like a princess and was ready to walk over the bridge to where the ceremony was to begin. Kimmie's soon-to-be husband, Jon, looked like a prince whith a smile that went on for days. While the bride was walking up the aisle, he whispered, "I love you. You look so beautiful" which took her breath away and she know this was the best day of their lives.

Wedding Wednesday: Whitney & Philip

9/20/2104  |  Orfila Vineyards

Their wedding was, hands down, the best day of their lives and the best wedding that that have ever been to. Orfila Vineyards was the perfect venue for Whitney and Philip - they had the ceremony on the lawn at 4pm, followed by cocktails on the patio, and the reception in an open air tent looking out over the vineyard. The winery was the perfect back drop for the 'sophisticated rustic' feel that the couple were going for with relatively simple, but tasteful decor, playing to the outdoors and featuring the vineyard. Dinner featured 3 unique food stations- fish tacos, dim sum, and sliders- and was followed by a packed dance floor for the rest of the night. The Trip Band kept everyone from bridesmaids to grandparents dancing until the very end- they didn't want to leave when it came time for their Grand Exit!

Wedding Wednesday: Tessa & Sam

7/17/2015  |  The Santaluz Club

Tessa & Sam had a fun filled wedding weekend. They started with bridal portraits in La Jolla by Scripps Pier the day before they got married at the LDS Temple in San Diego. On their wedding day we capture their beautiful tented reception at Santaluz in San Diego. It was a garden setting like not other from their beautiful flowers to the elegant decor we had so much fun celebrating with these two!

Ask Abby: How Do I Make the Most of My Budget?

The average wedding in America today costs around $30,000. Now this number is just an average and you can spend as much or as little as you want on your wedding! If you are on a budget, the first step is to figure out what exactly your budget is. Are you set on $15,000? Or do you have wiggle room up to $20,000? Get together with your fiance and your parents if they're helping out with the costs and mutually agree on an overall number.

From there, you can take a look at what you want at your wedding and start making individual budgets for photographers, venues, cakes, your dress, catering, flowers, etc.

Most wedding vendors understand that many brides do have a budget and are more than happy to work with you! You can set up individual meetings and get quotes from multiple vendors in order to figure out who and what best suit your budget!

In the end, you can still have the amazing wedding that you always dreamed of. It takes some extra time but it's worth it for one of the best days of your life!

Mangia Monday: Going Green

In today's ever changing world, becoming eco friendly has grown more and more important. The Wild Thyme Company is making a change in the catering world by their Green Efforts. From the simple use of biodegradable plates, napkins, cutlery, & cups during events to the bigger effort of recycling cooking oil for bio diesel, they are making changes in the wedding world!

They coordinate a composting program with one of their regular vendors and also have their own recycling program throughout the kitchen & warehouse. On top of these efforts, they shop local produce & seafood as much as possible from Southern California vendors. We applaud their green efforts and check out some of our favorite Wild Thyme dishes below!
