Vendor Spotlight: Cean One Photography Studios

Cean One Photography Studios

Cean Orrett, Owner

Cean (pronounced ‘scene’) was just five years old when his parents gave him a Box Brownie camera -- and he never put it down.  Born and raised in Southern California, he chronicled growing up and vacationing with his family and eventually attended Pasadena's Art Center College of Design to study photography.

He opened Cean One Studios in Riverside, CA, in 1995 and quickly became the exclusive photographer at the prestigious and iconic Misson Inn Hotel & Spa.  Cean estimates he has photographed some 1500 weddings at the Mission Inn.

In 2010, he expanded the business to Los Angeles and was featured on the TLC reality show "Momster of the Bride" where the mother of the bride referred to him as the "Rolls Royce of wedding photography."

In 2012, Cean married and moved to San Diego’s Ocean Beach.  Cean One opened a San Diego studio in April 2013 on J Street, next door to the new library downtown.

Cean's style is to find the truth, or the emotion, in each situation which is why his wedding photography is so impactful.  He says the best photography is when a private experience can be shared with others.

“The photographer is an observer of intimate moments, it’s the art of capturing something personal," Cean said.  "Wedding photographs should give you the feeling that there's no one else in the world for the couple.”

Cean's style is both contemporary and editorial, like a magazine shoot.  He gets to know his couples to find out what makes them happy and what situations help visually represent them -- whether its formal or casual, local or a location shoot.

He's very excited to have opened in San Diego and meet new clients, coordinator partners and vendors.
