San Diego Style Weddings photographer Anna Johnson of Blessed Wedding Photography was given the amazing opportunity to participate in an ongoing philanthropic project called The Traveling Dress Project!
The Traveling Dress Project is a collaborative project created by Gianella Simon from Minnesota. After purchasing this beautiful dress from a second hand store, Gianella had the brilliant idea to have it photographed by photographers from around the world and so the Traveling Dress Project was born. The dress began its travels in September 2014 and is still traveling with an estimated end date of December 2015. By the end of its journey, it will have traveled across the United States and made its way across Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom and more with over a hundred photographers involved. Each photographer will have the opportunity to capture the dress in their own unique style and vision.
The project will culminate with a book release sharing the journey the dress has made around the world. Proceeds will benefit Operation Smile! Operation Smile provides free surgeries to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities for children around the globe.
Anna's desire to participate in the project comes from her background as a pediatric nurse. She has seen personally how repair to cleft palates can help a child. "Being a wedding photographer and yet still being able to give back to children was fitting for me," Anna said.
